The writers life doesnt have to be a lonely one!

If you, much like myself, love to be surrounded by people and prefer the company of friends and colleagues over the company of yourself - then perhaps the writers life isnt for you...

Or at least, that's what I thought.

But once you get into the creative sphere, you might find likeminded people. That's what I did when I signed up for improv comedy classes and before I knew it, I did not only have an improv group, but also a writing group. We meet up about once per week after work and write on our own pieces, while occassionally drifting into whatever off-topic conversation we suddenly find ourselves in.

It's not always productive - but for those of us who are social animals and find it difficult to write by ourselves at times, finding a writing group, such as the one I have now, helps you get through the times where writer's block seems to tear apart your creativity.

As Dan Brown said in his masterclass: "Protect the process and the results will come". This is very much about ensuring you write consistently and writer's block is your enemy in this. If writing with others helps you overcome that (like it does with me) - then I would strongly encourage you to find one of your own.
